MIKE GALESI
Mike Galesi has over a quarter of a century of experience in many facets of the music business.

He formed and performed in the bands Second Left and Katfood. Songs from the bands' albums received substantial airplay throughout the country. He has played in numerous venues, and has appeared on television many times.

Mike is the owner of Silica Records, a full-service record company. Originally formed as a release vehicle for Second Left and Katfood, Silica has also released albums by Jeff Rupert, The Fins, the British Invasion All-Stars, the Jim McCarty Blues Band, Greg Chako, Mojo Stu, and Martin Gerschewitz.

Silica believes that a hit is only a hit if it's heard. For this reason they focus a great deal of effort on radio promotions. Additionally Silica focuses strongly on publicity, and public Relations. Technology, and creativity come together to form a marketing powerhouse. While artist activities are documented and reviews are publicized to strategic demographics, internet communications are leveraging the information. Fan clubs and email blasts are implemented to give fans an immediate interactive forum to be informed of events and to encourage the participation of street teams, and other fan based promotions.

Silica's goal is to get the music heard. The people listening are the most important piece of the puzzle. As corrupt, and rigid as the music industry may be, music is about people. It's a communicative art that demands the purity from which it was conceived. That will never change. Small, independent labels like Silica create channels for good music to find its audience.

Mike is the owner a state of art recording studio where he has produced many projects with the assistance of John Rollo.  mike@ourmuzic.com
